BOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOP WOOP!!!!

I wanted a STEAM_BOX. So, I MADE A STEAM_BOX. I felt that the STEAM_BOX text didn't need to be on the front to show what this machine is. And Linux will make it so much better! The front LEDs would be able to change colors and possible animation effects would make this a sight to see. As always I try to keep things as minimal and sharp as possible. You can stand it up on the feet or lay it down as you see in this photo. BAM!!! Gah I just love designing! Maybe someday I can do this for a living... but right now I just wanted to share my ideas for this project to the world ;) CHEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update: If you were wondering about my other ideas that I have on this, here they are -> Removable/Swappable GPU for upgrading when graphics become a problem (possible sliding tray?), HDMI/MiniHDMI ports, internal Wifi, Bluetooth for wireless keyboards/controllers/headsets, changeable color schemes for front LEDs, Steam logo on front is touch-integrated for open/close settings and power (as you can see from the rendering, slim design to fit in tight places, silent cooling fans/system (what ever happened to the Dyson blade-less fan? ;) ), RUNNING LINUX OF COURSE!!!!!!!! Ehem...Ubuntu anyone? Hidef speaker inputs, bluray player for movies, and probably a whole bunch of other stuff I am forgetting. I also had the thought that maybe the front could lose the bluray disk reader and maybe it could be a popout tray on the side (top in the picture). I think it could add to the stealthy look I am wanting on this design. What do you think???????

Things in the works...

I'm guessing you guys have all heard that something is in the works over at Ubuntu. They are going to release something to the world tomorrow! Gonna be awesome, whatever it is. My guess is most likely Ubuntu for Android or Ubuntu is fully touch compatible with pc's and tablets. Who knows?

I am also getting excited for Valve's SteamBox!!!!! Like super excited.... excited enough to make something, if you know what I mean. Expect something soon ;)

As always... CHEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sneak Peek #2!!!!!!!

I am as giddy as a schoolgirl! Hahaha, check this out. Not the finished quality and lighting I want but I figured this could be shown. Enjoy! And give me feedback Foos!!!!!!!!!!

3d Sneak Preview!

Alright guys (and gals), I had some time to work on this project today so I am deciding to give you a sneak preview of what is to come! Of course you cant see the front in this one because I already showed you what it will look like. As for the back, this is what I am thinking. It still needs cameras but I havent gotten there yet. If you are a modeler you will say that I have a butt ton of N-Gons. And you would be correct. But, it's okay in this situation since I wont be rigging this thing to deform or be in a smooth view.
If you have any ideas give a shout out! I am open to all. For now I am gonna get back to modeling this thang! I shall be back in a couple days!

As Promised!

Here is my Ubunye phone, now version 3! I have decided that fancy stuff needed to be thrown out the window and something needed to be done with as minimal parts possible. After some fun work my newest creation was born!

I know what you are thinking: "What the heck? This is a really simple design!" Haha you are correct! Clean lines, eye-pleasing, everything a phone wants to be. You might also be trying to guess where the power button is... I didn't put it in there because it is flush with the top right edge along the back.

Why asymmetrical? I say why not try something new? The thumb covers that portion of the screen as well, so I decided to break away from the standard. You never know until you try!

I wont be the back of this design because, wait for it...... I will be modeling this in 3d! When I have the time of course. Let me know what you think and what could be improved. Well, see you later for now! Stay tuned!!!

Back Again!

Hey everybody! Sorry I haven't been around much. I have been hard at work animating and modeling at DePaul University. I managed to get a portfolio together and even created a website using html5 and css3. Yeah it was based off of a template but who the heck has the time to actually build a nice looking website from scratch? You can check it out here! -> exitoutthewindow.com <- There you can see some of my new stuff.

As for Ubuntu.... I still love ya but I have dropped back into windows stuff unfortunately... Battlefield 3 was calling my name. BUT!!!! I am still coming up with fresh new GUI ideas. I may have something on here in the coming days about a new UI based on something I designed yesterday. I am hopefully going to work on an opensource game engine at Depaul and decided I couldn't sleep as usual and designed this!

This was my idea for the game engine layout (of course the 3d view would be where the grey and blue gradient is at). I plan on taking my drawer idea and incorporating it into the Ubuntu Phone GUI in the next design. I might even use 3d........... might.

Anyways, stay tuned for more news and designs. AND CHECK OUT MY WEBSITE FOO! Exitoutthewindow.com

Final works for year 1

Alrighty! My first year at DePaul has come to an end... Now time for summer!!! But first, here are some things I have done for classes that I havent shown yet. Enjoy!

I have always wanted to model a car. This isnt exactly the look I had in mind but whatever!

Just a little art project I did on the side. Took me about 20 or 30 minutes (because I didn't even know what I was doing in the first place).
I did this for texturing and lighting... I think I achieved the look I wanted.

Just a simple little walk for animation.

A Luxo hop!

One of the most difficult scenes I have ever made.... Took about 3 hours to render and a full night to create from scratch.

We had to light an outdoor scene (this was the scene given to us), so here is what I came up with. Very stylized.

This was my animation final. I wanted to add more sounds and fix a couple things with the sound and timing but ran out of time. I hope I got the weight right.
